Jo Oakley

Recalling my memories fuels my need to make pictures - it's to do with sharing past experiences with the viewer, my childhood memories of sitting at the table in my Nan's kitchen, the abandoned disorder she created in the wake of her culinary tasks. 
The memories of colour, pattern and objects start to form, moving from sketchbook to canvas. The surface of the painting is then built up with layers of paint.
